In this Birth Essentials series, you will learn basic information about the birth process, stages of labor, pain management, and postpartum recovery. You'll practice coping techniques, relaxation activities, and labor positions.
Taught by Heidi Duncan, a Birth Doula & Childbirth Educator with over 20 years of professional experience, you'll glean from the knowledge she has gained supporting hundreds of families during labor and birth in every setting.

- ONE WEEKEND: Saturday & Sunday, 10 am - 3 pm
- TWO WEEKENDS: 2 Saturdays, 10 am - 3 pm
- TWO WEEKENDS: 2 Sundays, 1 pm - 6 pm
- 4-WEEK SERIES: Wednesday nights, 6-8 pm
- Note: The Nov/Dec 2024 series pauses for the Thanksgiving holiday, and an extra week has been reserved in case I have to reschedule due to a Doula support client needing my presence.

This class is focused on community birth (home and birth center) but is open to those planning hospital birth as well.

The $150 class fee covers attendance for the birthing person and a partner for the 4-week series of 2-hour classes (or weekend sessions of two 4-hour days with a 1-hour lunch break). Each family will receive a full-color Preparing For Birth workbook and additional printed resources.
Private classes will meet at the family's home for the first session (4 hours of teaching plus an hour break) and then via Zoom for two 2-hour sessions. An upgrade fee of $75 brings this option to a total of $225.
Both group and private formats have been discounted for the benefit of the homebirth families at Clarksville Midwifery. Still, anyone in the community may attend and enjoy the great value offered through this series.
